Shoigu pointed out the imperfection of Western technology

Western technology showed in fact low efficiency and was far from flawless. This was stated by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu during the opening ceremony of the Army-2023 forum.

“In real conditions, our weapons show their reliability and effectiveness, while the widely advertised Western equipment turned out to be far from flawless in reality,” he said.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of military aid to Ukraine and pointed to the growing direct and indirect involvement of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine.

On July 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with members of the Russian Security Council notedthat the supplied equipment and thousands of foreign mercenaries do not help Kyiv achieve any results during the counteroffensive. The head of state noted that the equipment supplied to Ukraine is on fire. According to Putin, often “according to its tactical and technical data, it is even inferior to some types of weapons still of Soviet production.” The President noted that the supply of new equipment would only prolong the conflict.
