Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu checked the implementation of the state defense order at the enterprise of the Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation (KTRV). During the inspection, he ordered the modernization of conventional ammunition to high-precision ammunition. The press service of the Ministry of Defense reported this.
The department’s press service says in a statement that modernization of ammunition refers to “the transfer of a separate line of ammunition from the category of conventional to the category of high-precision.” “There is successful experience and good results. This work needs to be stepped up. Today, the main combat work is carried out not on areas, but on specific targets,” said Sergei Shoigu.
As part of the inspection, KTRV General Director Boris Obnosov reported to the minister that the company had fully fulfilled the state defense order for 2023. According to him, since the beginning of the military operation on the territory of Ukraine, the volume of production of high-precision weapons has been increased fivefold. Mr. Obnosov noted that this result became possible due to an increase in the number of personnel and the transition to a 24/7 work schedule.
The head of one of the divisions of the enterprise, Dmitry Kovalev, reported to Sergei Shoigu that labor productivity at KTRV had increased by 40%, and the corporation’s employees had switched to a 12-hour work shift. Based on the results of the inspection, Sergei Shoigu reported that the planning and correction modules produced at KTRV for equipping free-falling aerial bombs of 250, 500 and 1.5 thousand kg caliber “have successfully proven themselves” during combat operations.
Tactical Missiles Corporation is engaged in the development and supply of anti-ship, anti-radar and multi-purpose missiles. They are used to equip aircraft, ship and coastal tactical missile systems. The corporation includes 39 enterprises. The structure of KTRV, in particular, includes GMKB “Vympel” (production of surface-to-air missiles), GMKB “Raduga” (strategic cruise missiles), SNPP “Region” (guided bombs), etc.
