Shoigu instructed to increase the production of radar detection equipment

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the implementation of the state defense order (GOS) at enterprises of the military-industrial complex in the Tula region, including at a plant that produces radar systems, which is part of the Almaz-Antey concern. Based on the results of the audit, the minister announced the need to increase the production and repair of radar detection equipment. He also demanded that the management of Almaz-Antey organize the work of the enterprise in 24/7 mode.

How clarified the press service of the defense department, during the audit of the enterprise, the general director of JSC Concern VKO Almaz-Antey, Yan Novikov, told Sergei Shoigu about the increase in the supply of counter-battery weapons to the Russian armed forces in the zone of military operation.

Mr. Novikov also noted that due to the reconstruction and technical re-equipment carried out over the past two years, potential production capacities have increased significantly. In addition, serial production of the latest models of radar means for reconnaissance of firing positions was mastered.

Based on the results of the inspection at the enterprise, the head of the Russian Defense Ministry held a meeting with the management of the enterprise and relevant military authorities. “In the course of a special military operation, the most important role is assigned to counter-battery combat and to providing our group with everything necessary for its conduct. These are artillery reconnaissance systems in combination with the means of destruction that we need to conduct effective counter-battery combat, ”Sergei Shoigu noted during the meeting.

In November 2022 Sergei Shoigu informedthat the state defense order in 2023 will be increased by 1.5 times, this will provide the troops with weapons and equipment by 97%. In mid-June this year, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov announced on the fulfillment of the state defense order by almost 100%. At the same time, Vladimir Putin pointed out that the lack of highly qualified specialists at the enterprises of the military-industrial complex affects the timing of the implementation of the state defense order.
