Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the Joint Group of Forces, the department reported in Telegram. At the headquarters, he heard reports from the commanders on the situation in the zone of military operation, the nature of the actions of the Ukrainian troops and the fulfillment of tasks by the Russian army. As follows from the Ministry of Defense video, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov was present at the meeting.
Mr. Shoigu, as the ministry said in a statement, paid special attention to reports on the effectiveness of reconnaissance and strike contours and the effectiveness of counter-battery warfare.
The Chief of Staff of the Joint Group of Forces, Colonel General Alexey Kim, reported on Ukraine’s losses, including the destruction of Western equipment. As follows from the video, Mr. Shoigu was presented with footage of attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops.
Russian regions have been frequently attacked by Ukraine in recent days. Only on the night of March 16 over the Belgorod and Kursk regions were shot down eight drones, a rocket and a Tochka-U missile. At least five people were injured.
