Shoigu congratulated the military on the New Year and announced the inevitability of victory

Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu congratulated the military on the upcoming New Year and said that Russia’s victory is inevitable. The press service of the Ministry of Defense published a video with the Minister’s address.

Shoigu in circulation declaredthat in 2022 Russia faced serious trials that “changed the usual course of time”, and the country is now in a difficult military-political situation.

“When they try to cross out our glorious history and great achievements, they demolish monuments to the victors of fascism and erect war criminals on a pedestal, cancel and desecrate everything Russian,” Shoigu listed, stressing that under these conditions, the upcoming holiday “takes on a deeper meaning” and is a symbol of “hope for a peaceful future”.

Shoigu thanked the Russian servicemen who are participating in a special military operation in Ukraine. According to him, 2022 “will forever enter the military chronicle of the Fatherland, filled with your immortal deeds, selfless courage and heroism in the fight against neo-Nazism and terrorism.” The head of the defense department promised to remember the military who sacrificed themselves while performing combat missions, and expressed gratitude to the doctors, workers of the military-industrial complex, builders and volunteers.

“In the coming year, I want to wish everyone good health, fortitude, reliable and devoted comrades and, of course, clear skies! Our Victory, like the New Year, is inevitable!” Shoigu said.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.

In Russia, from September 21 to October 31, there was a partial mobilization. Putin noted that 318,000 people were mobilized as a result, since a large number of volunteers wanted to go to the war zone.
