Russian and Belarusian Defense Ministers Sergei Shoigu and Viktor Khrenin signed a protocol in Minsk on Saturday to an agreement between the countries on joint provision of regional security in the military sphere.
This was announced by the head of the Department of International Military Cooperation – Assistant to the Minister of Defense of Belarus for International Military Cooperation Valery Revenko.
On the social network, he briefly noted that the defense ministries of the two countries signed “a protocol to the agreement between Belarus and Russia on the joint provision of regional security in the military sphere of December 19, 1997.”
Revenko did not provide details.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the Russian Defense Ministry Sergei Shoigu flew to Belarus to meet with his Belarusian counterpart Viktor Khrenin. At their talks, issues of bilateral military cooperation were discussed.
