Ukraine plans to become a full member of the European Union within two years, said Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, during this time, Kyiv expects to complete all negotiations.
“We expect to pass the path of negotiations on accession to the European Union in less than 2 years,” he wrote on his Telegram channel, saying that this would give Ukraine a full membership in the EU. He also acknowledged that “the amount of work to be done is colossal.”
Volodymyr Zelensky on February 28 last year signed an application for Ukraine’s accession to the EU. The heads of state and government of the European Union at the summit in Brussels on June 23 approved granting Ukraine and Moldova the status of candidates for joining the union. To start accession negotiations, countries need to fulfill a number of conditions, including reforms.
