Ukraine’s economy risks suffering a 50% contraction in 2022. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the country Denys Shmyhal, according to the Ukrainian edition of “Strana”.
According to the head of the Ukrainian government, such a large-scale reduction awaits the Ukrainian economy if the Russian armed forces continue to attack the country’s energy infrastructure. Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine predicted a decline in Ukraine’s GDP by 33.2% -33.5%.
Recall that since October 10, the Russian army has been inflicting massive strikes on critical infrastructure in Ukraine. Because of this, the whole of Ukraine is experiencing serious problems with energy supply, as well as the provision of water and heating. Massive attacks on Ukrainian targets were a response to a number of sabotage and terrorist attacks organized by the Ukrainian special services on Russian territory.
