Shmygal announced the first celebration of Christmas by Ukrainians together with Europe, but without a day off
This year Ukraine will officially celebrate Christmas together with Catholics for the first time; celebrations according to the Julian calendar have been cancelled. At the same time, the new old holiday will not become a day off. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal warned about this.
He stated that for all authorities and government institutions, while martial law is in force in the country, December 25 will be a regular working day. At the same time, Shmygal promised to make Christmas an official holiday and a day off after the end of the conflict.
At the same time, the Prime Minister of Ukraine added that businesses can declare a holiday on Christmas at their discretion.
At the same time, persecution of Father Frost began in Ukraine. In the western part of the country, those detained in the costume of the main New Year’s character face a fine of 20 thousand hryvnia and a visit to the military registration and enlistment office.
