In 2022, Russia tripled its exports of steel semi-finished products to China to 2.3 million tons, and exports increased by the same amount in monetary terms, to $1.34 billion (Vedomosti wrote about this on January 23). The peak of deliveries in 2022 was in July-October, when from 252,000 to 464,000 tons per month were exported.
But already in November there were no deliveries at all, and in December only 40,100 tons were exported to China. In January-April 2023, sales of Russian semi-finished products to China decreased by 4 times in physical terms to 132,400 tons, and in monetary terms – 6 times to $64.7 million. In particular, in April, exports were zero.
