The Russian army plans to conduct seven launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) in 2024, said the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) Sergei Karakaev. He noted that the Russian Federation and the United States continue to exchange information about such actions.
Over the past five years, the Strategic Missile Forces have conducted more than 20 launches as part of flight tests of promising missile systems and training in controlling the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. “As for launches from positional areas of missile formations, before placing the Avangrad complex with hypersonic combat equipment on combat duty, its experimental testing was carried out from the Yasnensky formation in the Orenburg region with partial use of the existing infrastructure of the positional area,” said Mr. Karakaev “Red Star”.
The commander of the Strategic Missile Forces said that Russia informs the American side at least 24 hours in advance “about any planned launch of intercontinental ballistic missiles or submarine-launched ballistic missiles.” The US provides “similar information.”
