Sergey Lavrov against retaliatory visa restrictions for EU citizens

Russia will not introduce retaliatory visa restrictions against EU citizens. This was announced on September 1 at MGIMO by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. According to him, Russia should not punish ordinary EU citizens because of the “Schengen walls” that Western politicians have built. “We, I believe, should not follow the same path – to respond with stupidity for stupidity, but, of course, no one has canceled reciprocity, which must be purposefully used against the organizers, organizers and executors of such anti-Russian sanctions,” Lavrov emphasized. According to him, Moscow introduces visa restrictions pointwise: “We have “favorite” characters who are already marked in our sanctions lists.” The leaders of the European Union, who abolished the simplified procedure for issuing visas to Russians, Lavrov called miserable people. In his opinion, such an act is ridiculous and will not encourage Russia to self-isolate.
