Sergei Sobyanin spoke about the improvement of embankments and parks in Moscow

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that during the improvement work, 40 embankments with a total length of over 65 kilometers were put in order. In the next 5 years, it is planned to do “almost more,” the mayor said.
10 years ago, granite embankments in the center of Moscow were used as highways, remained practically inaccessible to pedestrians and did not meet modern comfort requirements. Improvement began with the Crimean, and then Pushkinskaya and Yakimanskaya embankments, which marked the beginning of the transformation of the capital’s granite shores into walking spaces.
“The total length of the coastline of the Moscow River within the Moscow Ring Road is about 170 kilometers. A huge wealth that should serve all the inhabitants of our city. After all, a good embankment is a favorite place for meetings and walks,” Sobyanin wrote on website of the mayor of Moscow.
“The return of the embankments to Muscovites is one of the most important improvement programs that we have been implementing in recent years,” Sobyanin said.
