Senator from Ryazan Region Igor Morozov to resign

The representative of the Ryazan Regional Duma in the Federation Council (SF), Igor Morozov, decided to resign in order to devote himself entirely to cooperation with Africa. He told Kommersant about this. According to the senator, on Wednesday his resignation letter “will be supported by the decision” of the Federation Council.
“I head the Coordinating Committee for Economic Cooperation with African Countries (AfroCom.— “b”), and in this post I will do what is necessary for the Russian Federation today. In particular, I will work to promote products manufactured in the Russian regions to the African market,” the senator said.
Igor Morozov was born in the Ryazan region in 1956. In 1978 he graduated from the Moscow Higher All-Arms Command School named after the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, in 1988 – the Red Banner Institute of the KGB of the USSR named after Yu. V. Andropov. His current term in the Federation Council began in October 2020, when Mr. Morozov was delegated to the upper house of parliament by his colleagues in the Ryazan Regional Duma.
For the first time Igor Morozov became a senator in 2001. From 2003 to 2007 he sat in the State Duma, from 2009 to 2012 he worked in Rossotrudnichestvo. In 2012 he returned to the Federation Council.
