Member of the Federation Council Elena Afanasyeva expressed the view that the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia should find out who and for what reasons wrote a statement about the verification of the work of the singer Yaroslav Dronov, known under the pseudonym SHAMAN.
At a meeting of the Federation Council commission on protecting state sovereignty and preventing interference in Russia’s internal affairs, the senator said that she considers the statement about checking the singer’s work for signs of inciting ethnic hatred to be “the most natural inciting Russophobia inside Russia.”
SHAMAN himself spoke about the citizen’s appeal to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Tula Region with a request to check the composition “I am Russian” for extremism.
