Scout Klupov recalled nuclear weapons after the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Chongar bridge

Early in the morning on Thursday, June 22, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a strike with Franco-British Storm Shadow missiles on the Chongar automobile bridge, one of the isthmuses connecting Crimea with the mainland. Moreover, this was done almost immediately after Defense Minister Shoigu warned: if Kiev uses such missiles outside the NVO zone, then, firstly, this will mean the full involvement of the United States and Great Britain in the conflict, and, secondly, will entail our immediate attacks on decision-making centers in Ukraine. What did Kyiv want to achieve with these strikes, and what could be our response? On this topic, we are talking with a veteran of military intelligence, a Hero of Russia, a retired colonel Rustem Klupov.

As a result of rocket strikes on the Chongar bridge, no one was injured. In several places, the bridge deck was damaged, in which holes were formed. Damage, as reported by local authorities, will be restored in a few hours. While the bridge is being examined, all transport to the peninsula is directed to a detour through Armyansk. According to the acting head of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo, the sabotage of the militants did not bring results.

And I couldn’t bring it, the Fighterbomber channel notes. The warhead of the Storm Shadow rocket is 450 kg, and therefore the damage that it can inflict even on an “average scall bridge, it’s to make a hole” that you can simply fence off and drive yourself calmly further.

To prevent the bridge from being exploited, the author writes, it is necessary to make so many holes in it, “so that the bridge either falls, or it is no longer possible to drive through the holes.” Although, according to the information resource, the very fact that the rocket did fly there, of course, is unpleasant.”

According to the Russian Spring Military Correspondents, with these missile strikes on bridges, the enemy is starting a campaign to cut off our routes for the transfer of troops, equipment and ammunition from Crimea to the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. After obtaining Storm Shadow long-range missiles, he had such an opportunity.

The fact is that in the South-Donetsk and Zaporozhye sectors of the front, the supply of military groups comes not only from the Crimea, but also through the Donbass. But in the Kherson region, the supply almost completely goes through the Crimea. There is a shorter path.

After the Kakhovka reservoir dried up due to the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, we can expect attempts by the enemy to attack in the Kherson direction. It is quite possible that the strikes on the Chongar automobile bridge are preparations for such an offensive. The damaged bridge should make it difficult to supply and quickly transfer reinforcements.

In this regard, the question arises: can the Chongarsky bridge be considered a zone of the NWO or not? Does a strike on it by long-range Franco-British missiles mean that NATO countries are completely drawn into the conflict? And through which decision-making centers can our answer arrive?

– Such questions should be asked to politicians, – says Rustem Klupov, – And I am a military man. And as a military man, I can say that we have all the technical capabilities to strike at decision-making centers. Up to nuclear weapons. If there is political will, we will inflict serious blows on those objects where all these “Bandera cockroaches” have accumulated and destroy them.

– Can the strike on the Chongar bridge be the reason for such a response?

– Personally, my opinion: our attacks on decision-making centers should not be inflicted in retaliation. Military facilities are not affected because someone stuck some kind of rocket somewhere in our place. The strikes are delivered because there is a plan to defeat the enemy, there are means of destruction, there is reconnaissance that detects objects of destruction.

– Yes, but the most massive attacks on military and infrastructure facilities in Kyiv and Western Ukraine began in response to the explosion of the Crimean bridge by Ukrainian terrorists in October last year. And they officially announced to us that these missile strikes of ours are the answer for the Crimean bridge. And now we have the use of Western long-range weapons outside the NVO zone.

– Decision-making points are targets for destruction in any military operations, both tactical and strategic. All items. And why we didn’t do this before, I don’t understand. It was necessary to do this starting from February 24, 2022, maybe then the result would have been different. Not to threaten with a finger, but to bury all these Budanov terrorists and those who are in power there in Kyiv under the rubble of their own bunkers. But I repeat once again: such decisions are made by politicians, not the military.

– They say that the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the Chongar bridge so that we would just respond with our missiles at Kyiv. They could then use it for informational purposes. Here, they say, look: on June 22, 1941, the Germans bombed Kyiv, and on June 22, 2023, the Russians bombed it. Or did this shelling pursue some purely military tasks?

– Of course, a few Storm Shadow missiles could not destroy the Chongar bridge. Everything that was built in the Soviet Union was made with the expectation of withstanding almost nuclear strikes. An example of such stability is the strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with HIMARS missiles on the Antonovsky bridge across the Dnieper. Well, yes, they made holes, but they could not break the supporting structure. The bridge ceased to exist when we ourselves blew it up with the use of a large charge of TNT. Although, of course, the “Haymars” did a great job of damaging the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir, because of which it could not withstand the pressure of the water and collapsed.

– Moreover, it is not clear why they fired at the Chongarsky bridge? What did you want to achieve?

– There is such a concept: “isolation of the theater of operations.” The missiles that hit the bridge have their own operational purpose. Their range allows you to operate to the depth of the isolation of the theater of operations. All bridges are one of the most critical objects in the conditions of hostilities, since if they are destroyed, the provision of our troops, which are conducting defensive operations, may be disrupted.

But in this case, they are unlikely to be able to weaken our combat effectiveness, because, as we see, the power of this ammunition is not enough to cause significant damage to the bridge. To do this, you need to use up an amount of ammunition that they probably don’t have.

– Could this mean that they are going to attack in the south direction now?

– We have been talking about this offensive in the south with the aim of reaching the Sea of Azov for a long time. The attack has already begun. The main forces of the enemy are concentrated in this direction. Here he conducts maximum fire destruction with the involvement of all his high-precision destruction systems. 80% of these systems – Hymars, cruise missiles, American HARM anti-radar missiles, Excalibur precision-guided projectiles and other weapons – are all focused on this direction. The southern direction is the main one for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the task of reaching the Molochny Liman.

– Can we say that their offensive was bogged down due to the huge losses of people and equipment?

– To date, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have used 50% of the operational-strategic reserves. The total losses of these reserves are currently up to 30% killed and wounded, which is a critical figure for the advancing side.

What do you think they will do next?

– The Armed Forces of Ukraine, I think, have two options for action. Or urgently plan and commit to battle the second half of their operational-strategic reserves in those areas where they have at least a slight success. But at the same time, they still will not fulfill their operational and strategic tasks. Or – which will be more competent – to simulate the loss of combat capability and prepare a good defense. That is, in the presence of a large number of remaining reserves, go over to strategic defense with counterattacks, when we already go on the offensive.

– But the strikes on the Chongar bridge seem to indicate that they are not yet ready to abandon the idea of their “counterattack”…

– If they now use up all their operational-strategic reserves in an offensive battle, then it will be possible to consider that the armed forces of Ukraine have ceased to exist.
