School Fashion – Style

School Fashion - Style

On the eve of September 1 and the beginning of the school year, it is worth thinking about the school wardrobe. All accessories have already been bought, the preparatory processes have been completed, which means it’s time to revisit the classics of world cinema (or more modern films) in search of inspiration. We’ve picked a few movies — and one TV series — to help you decide which immortal style to look out for this semester.

Rushmore Academy

One of Wes Anderson’s early films that centers on Rushmore Private School and a conflict we’ve seen in other films and novels: a young student falls in love with a teacher and competes with a grown man for her attention. The film is filled with Anderson’s trademark shots, color scheme and music, but special attention should be paid to the uniform. The protagonist, played by Jason Schwartzman, while not the academy’s most stellar student, is proud of his school affiliation — and proudly wears his uniform. Pair a navy blue patched blazer and beige chinos with an oxford shirt and a striped tie for an Ivy League-inspired look. The red beret can be added at your own discretion.

Dead Poets Society

A film in which the school plays no less a role than its students and teachers. The Student Heroes wear a set uniform that looks great off campus too: a shirt, tie, jumper and jacket with the school crest over this combo. Below are gray dress pants and black patent leather boots. This shape is the perfect alternative to the boring combination of “white top, black bottom”. This combination is especially good for educational institutions with a strict dress code, but without their own school uniform. And on weekends, you can follow the members of the Society and choose a more informal form: a sweater with braids or a sports sweatshirt.

very strange things

The latest season of one of Netflix’s most popular series is rightfully considered almost flawless. The creators were able to bring back the familiar spirit of the first season, added a well-written villain and, in general, seemed to return to the version of the series that the whole world fell in love with. In addition to fantastic evil, Stranger Things featured real evil – in the person of high school students who tried to find and kill everyone they suspected of something wrong (to simplify the season’s scenario). These same high school students, it is worth noting, appropriated one of the most stylish elements of the entire series – the fictional Hawkins high school varsity bomber jacket. Most fans of the series turned their attention to the Hellfire Club long sleeves, but for fans of the vintage style of American colleges, there was only one winner – a loose white and green bomber jacket with patches and leather sleeves.

Club Breakfast

Perhaps the most iconic “school” movie of the 1980s. It is pointless to retell the plot – it is better to watch the film and feel its mood. Separately, it is worth noting the style of the main characters, because absolutely everyone found a place here: athletes (the same university bomber jacket), hooligans (torn jeans, a plaid shirt and fingerless gloves), goths (a black sweater combined with a long dress), excellent students in pink shirts and ordinary guys in sweaters and trousers. The main thing is to choose your own direction, and you can already peep the details for the image from one of the heroes. And it is absolutely not necessary to limit yourself to one example.
