Scholz wanted Germany to take responsibility for security in Europe

Germany is ready to take a leading role in ensuring the security of Europe, said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He said this at a conference on the development of the Bundeswehr.
“At the same time, we make it clear and convincing that Germany is ready to assume the leading role and responsibility for the security of our continent,” he said.
Scholz added that Germany will continue to adhere to the fifth article of the NATO charter that an attack on one country of the alliance is equal to an attack on all its countries.
He also said that Germany is ready to reconsider the reservations regarding military export rules affecting joint defense projects. These national export regulations have previously hindered cooperation with foreign defense partners.
