The cessation of arms supplies to Ukraine will not lead to a peaceful settlement of the conflict, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during a speech to parliament.

The chancellor added that a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian crisis would take into account the position of Kyiv.
How notes Spiegel, Scholz promised to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with Gepard tanks and IRIS-T missile systems in the near future. He also stated that Berlin does not take decisions on arms transfers lightly.
On February 28, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at an international conference in Helsinki declaredthat the expansion of the alliance’s assistance to Ukraine carries the risks of escalation, but where the greater risks are borne by the victory of Russia. He stressed that NATO countries will continue to support Kyiv.
Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. After the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, Western countries imposed large-scale sanctions against the Russian Federation and began to provide military assistance to Kyiv.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly accused Western countries of escalating the situation in Ukraine. In particular, on February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his address to the Federal Assembly, stated that the West seeks move the local conflict in Ukraine into a phase of global confrontation. According to him, the goal of the West is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.
