Scholz said that Germany will not supply weapons to Ukraine for strikes on Russia

Germany does not intend to supply weapons to Ukraine for strikes on Russian territory. This statement was made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a speech in Magdeburg.
Scholz said he supported the words of US President Joe Biden about a ban on the supply of weapons to Ukraine for shelling Russian territory. He added that other countries should adhere to this principle as well.
“We will not act alone and will always be guided by what our allies are doing,” said the German Chancellor (quote by T-Online).
Earlier, Ukraine has repeatedly stated that it needs the M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS MLRS to respond to Russian strikes. However, the American authorities were in no hurry to provide the Ukrainian authorities with such weapons. In May, Biden ruled out transferring missile systems to Ukraine that could reach Russian territory.
As a result, the deliveries of the HIMARS MLRS to Ukraine nevertheless took place, but the United States provided them with shells of such a range that they cannot threaten the territory of Russia.
At the same time, Western countries continue to provide large-scale military assistance to Ukraine. So, in August, the United States announced three new military aid packages at once: for $1 billion, $775 million, and almost $3 billion.
European countries also do not stop supplying weapons to Ukraine. This week, resigning British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new £54m military aid package for Kyiv. And on August 23, Reuters reported on Germany’s plans to supply more than €500m worth of weapons to Ukraine.
