Scholz: “Putin did not threaten me or Germany”

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he had not heard any threats from Russian President Vladimir Putin either against himself or against Germany.
During an interview with Bild newspaper, he was asked about such “threats”. Earlier, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that Putin personally threatened him during telephone conversations.
“No, Putin did not threaten me or Germany,” said the German Chancellor.
He also noted that although he and Putin have “very different points of view” on what is happening around Ukraine, telephone conversations help to clarify the positions of the parties to the utmost.
The Kremlin commented on Johnson’s statements. According to the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, the ex-premier could deliberately lie, and all his statements on this matter are not true.
