The chancellor answered the question of the publication about whether he has an agreement with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to use weapons supplied by Western countries only on the territory of Ukraine and not to attack Russia at the same time.

“There is a consensus on this,” Scholz replied.

He also said that Germany carefully weighs each delivery of weapons, “closely coordinating it with its allies, primarily with America.” “This collaborative approach prevents the escalation of the war,” Scholz said.

In January 2023, Germany and the United States announced the supply of tanks to Kyiv: Germany will send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, the United States – 31 Abrams. The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv.
