Sberbank lowers mortgage down payment to 10% – Kommersant

Since July 18, Sberbank has reduced the down payment on mortgages for new buildings and secondary housing from 15% to 10%. The changes will affect all customers, including the self-employed, informed bank.
In June, Sberbank issued 111,000 mortgage loans for a record total since the beginning of 2023 — RUB 364 billion. Most often, mortgages were issued in Moscow, the Moscow region and the Krasnodar Territory.
Sberbank’s net profit for the first six months of 2023 amounted to 727.8 billion rubles. At the beginning of the year, the head of the bank, German Gref, called an increase in demand for mortgages one of the drivers of profit growth.
