Sber (MOEX: SBER) expanded services that are provided as part of the on-site service. Now clients can call a bank employee to install or update the SberBank Online application for iOS and Android.

You can call a specialist to install an online bank in more than 200 cities of Russia. To use the on-site service, clients need to leave a request on the Sber website, indicating a convenient time and meeting place. The press service of the credit institution notes that bank employees will help install not only SberBank Online, but also other applications of Sber and its partners, including SberInvestments and SberPravo.

According to Sberbank Senior Vice President Tatyana Galkina, in 2023, office employees made 5 million installations of the SberBank Online application. And in the first two months of 2024 – almost 1 million, including “Online Accounting” (a new version of the application for smartphones on the iOS platform, launched in January 2024.— “Kommersant”). She noted that assistance in gaining access to SberBank Online is one of the most popular non-financial services in bank branches.

In April 2022, Russian banks, including Sber, came under blocking US sanctions. Because of this, the applications of credit institutions were removed from the Apple online store. January 31, 2024 Sberbank released a new version of the mobile application called “Accounting Online” for installation on iOS. It was removed from the App Store a few days later.

Against the backdrop of the removal from the App Store of the developments of Russian companies that were subject to sanctions, the Ministry of Digital Development announced a bill requiring Apple to download third-party applications. According to the head of the department, Maksut Shadayev, the document is now being finalized based on proposals from the presidential administration. The ministry plans to introduce the bill for consideration during the spring session of the State Duma.
