Amazon founder Jeff Bezos took first place in the ranking of the world’s richest people for the first time since 2021. His fortune is estimated at $200 billion, over the past 24 hours it has decreased by $500 ml, it follows from Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The top 10 of the Bloomberg rating includes:

  • Jeff Bezos with a net worth of $200 billion;
  • owner of SpaceX, Tesla and social network X Elon Musk ($198 billion);
  • owner of the LVMH group of companies, Frenchman Bernard Arn ($197 billion);
  • founder of Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) Mark Zuckerberg ($179 billion);
  • Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ($150 billion)
  • former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer ($143 billion);
  • investor Warren Buffett ($133 billion);
  • former Oracle CEO Larry Ellison ($129 billion);
  • former Google CEO Larry Page ($122 billion);
  • former Google President Sergey Brin ($116 billion).

In early February, Jeff Bezos announced plans to sell up to 50 million shares of the company by the end of January 2025. The market value of such a package was estimated at approximately $8.6 billion. In the same month, he sold almost 12 million shares of the company worth $2.04 billion. At the end of December 2023, Mr. Bezos owned 988 million Amazon shares, which is slightly less than 10% of all shares. Over the past 22 years, the businessman has sold more than $30 billion worth of Amazon shares.
