The information that appeared in the Telegram channels about the hacking of Sberbank systems and the leakage of customer data is not true, reported the press service of the bank in the comments to TASS.
“The information is not true. The bank successfully repels any attacks and has the most advanced information security system. Clients’ funds are securely protected, data is safe,” they said.
Sber explained that the data posted on the shadow resources related to the bank’s customers is a compilation of various databases obtained due to hacking of the subsidiaries of the credit institution.
“There is no sensitive financial information in them,” they stressed.
Sberlogistics noted that reports of hacking arise mainly due to scammers trying to sell compilations of old databases under the guise of new ones.
As a representative of the Central Bank told Vedomosti earlier, Russian banks did not suffer significant losses despite the growth of hacker attacks on their infrastructure. Isolated cases of theft of funds from credit institutions due to the vulnerabilities of informatization objects and imperfection of business processes were identified. The chairman of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, noted in turn that the losses do not affect the financial stability of banks in any way.
