Saudi Arabia condemns the burning of the Koran in Malmo, Sweden

The Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry condemned the Koran burning event in the Swedish city of Malmo, permission for which was given by local authorities. The ministry’s statement was published on the social network X.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns Saudi Arabia’s burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by an extremist in the Swedish city of Malmo with the knowledge of local authorities who allowed him to commit this heinous crime,” the statement said.

They added that such actions “are systematically repeated in a number of European capitals under the pretext of freedom of speech with the aim of offending the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world.”

On July 27, Swedish police approved the burning of a Torah scroll near the Israeli Embassy. Anti-Muslim protesters in Copenhagen in late July burned The Koran in front of the Saudi Arabian Embassy.
