Moldovagaz may pay Gazprom $9 million instead of the more than $700 million declared by the Russian company. About this reported President of Moldova Maia Sandu.
“We have evidence: the audit was carried out by international companies recognized in this field. Thus, Moldovagaz can pay Gazprom $9 million, but not about $700 million,” she said in an interview with Vocea Basarabiei TV channel.
At the same time, in early September, the Ministry of Energy of Moldova reported that the government of the republic was ready to pay $8.6 million to Gazprom.
Gazprom stated that Moldovagaz’s debt for gas supplied was $433 million, and taking into account late payments – $709 million. The Russian company claimed that it continued to receive and fulfill daily requests for gas supplies from Moldovagaz, despite refusal Moldova from purchases from a Russian company.
At the same time, the country’s Energy Minister Viktor Parlikov clarifiedthat the republic has not abandoned the idea of working with Gazprom, but is waiting for a good price for gas purchases from the Russian company.
