Sanctions against Russia have failed – Hungarian Foreign Ministry

Sanctions against Russia failed and failed to cause unacceptable damage to Russia, although the EU was counting on it, said Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations Peter Szijjártó.
In a conversation with RIA Novosti, he noted that strengthening the sanctions regime also did not help resolve the crisis in Ukraine. He called on people to think about who is most harmed by the sanctions, whether they make sense, and what results have been achieved.
“Have they achieved their goals, namely, “to bring Russia to its knees economically”, to move closer to peace. Whether we succeeded or not… I think it’s obvious that it didn’t work out,” said the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry.
At the same time, he said that at the moment no one in the EU is thinking about this problem, and attempts to bring it up for discussion end in nothing.
