Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces Oleg Salyukov made a working trip to Belarus, where at one of the training grounds he heard reports on the conduct of combat coordination as part of a regional group of forces, transmits press service of the Ministry of Defense in the Telegram channel.
“In addition, the commander-in-chief of the ground forces checked the conditions for the deployment and life of Russian military units, talked with the military personnel and personally convinced himself of the high quality of personnel training,” the report says.
On October 10, President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko announced the increased threats that come from Western countries against Belarus. In particular, he claimed that Kyiv was working on opening a second front on the border with the republic. In this regard, Russia and Belarus agreed to deploy a joint regional group of troops. Lukashenka instructed to deploy a small part of the Russian military in the territory of the republic. On October 31, the Belarusian leader signed a decree on the establishment of joint combat training centers with Russia for the military of the two countries.
Russia and Belarus also are planning conduct tactical flight exercises from January 16 to February 1. As noted in the ministry, their goal is to “increase the level of combat training of aviation units.” The aviation component of the Military Space Forces of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) has arrived in the republic. All airfields and training grounds of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus will be involved in the exercises.
