The Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to carry out a major missile attack on Crimea and the Azov region; five missiles were shot down over the Kherson region alone. This was announced by the regional governor Vladimir Saldo.

“In the past hour, the enemy launched a major missile attack on Crimea and the Azov region. At least 10-15 missiles were fired, including converted S200s,” wrote he is on his Telegram channel.

Baldo clarified that three missiles were destroyed in the Kakhovsky district of the Kherson region, and two more in Genichesk. According to him, the air defense systems “worked perfectly.”

Earlier today, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev reported about the interception of a missile over the Black Sea in the Lyubimovka area (a microdistrict of Sevastopol). Information about possible damage and casualties has not been specified. Earlier, an air raid alert was announced in the city. At the same time, the Crimean Bridge was blocked.

Crimea and new regions of Russia are regularly attacked by Ukraine. The “yellow” (high) level of terrorist threat is in effect in Crimea indefinitely. In addition, since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response has been established on the peninsula and in Sevastopol. Martial law has been introduced in the Kherson region and other new regions of the Russian Federation.
