“Tonight, the Rylsky district of the Kursk region came under shelling from Ukraine. At least 20 arrivals were recorded in the vicinity of the village of Popovka on the border with the Sumy region. Most importantly, there were no casualties. However, two households received damage from shrapnel: there were hits on facades, roofs, and fences. At one of the sites, a shell hit a barn,” Starovoit wrote.
According to the governor, the power line was also damaged. In the near future, repair teams will begin to eliminate the consequences of shelling.
On January 25, Starovoit reported that the Otruba farm in the Glushkovsky district came under fire from the Ukrainian side. According to him, there were no casualties among the citizens, power lines were damaged, due to which the village of Tetkino and the village of Popovo-Lezhachi were left without electricity.
After the start of the special operation, the Ukrainian military began to regularly shell the border regions of Russia. On October 19, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response was introduced in eight border regions, including Crimea, Sevastopol, Belgorod and Kursk regions.
In addition, the Kursk region has a “yellow” (high) level of terrorist threat, this week the authorities of the region extended this regime until February 4.
