Ryabkov called Russia the most reliable energy supplier

Russia remains the most reliable supplier of energy, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, writes Interfax.

“There is no more reliable supplier of energy resources in all types than the Russian Federation. Washington knows this very well,” he said. As the deputy minister noted, the United States is engaged in “reflecting a cynical, selfish course to create competitive advantages for itself at the expense of the interests of others.”

Commenting on the words of US Assistant Secretary of Energy Geoffrey Pyatt about the unreliability of Russia as an energy supplier, Ryabkov said that those who “listen to this kind of comments from Washington” act “to their own detriment.”

“Inflationary processes, interruptions in energy supplies, and, accordingly, in energy supplies, await Washington clients in full. But it’s probably easier for them, the main thing for them is to curry favor with the overlord, and they can cross out the interests of their own citizens,” he added.

On October 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a plenary session of the Russian Energy Week that the Russian energy system has maintained stability despite sanctions, and energy supplies will expand.

In August, Vedomosti, citing research by the international non-governmental organization Global Witness wrotethat EU countries intend to purchase record volumes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia in 2023, despite the union’s desire to abandon Russian fuel by 2027. As Finam analyst Sergei Kaufman noted, against the backdrop of a decrease in pipeline gas supplies from Russia and the limited increase in global LNG production capacity in 2022–2023. There is currently no free capacity on the LNG market, which forces the EU to continue to buy products from Russia.
