Russia’s international reserves increased by $3.1 billion over the week

The volume of international reserves as of January 27 amounted to $597.7 billion. Central Bank, for the week the indicator increased by $3.1 billion or 0.5%. The regulator noted that the growth occurred under the influence of a positive revaluation.
The volume of international reserves has increased for the third week in a row. As of January 13, it was $592 billion, and as of January 6, it was $582 billion. The historical maximum figure reached $643.2 billion on February 18.
The Central Bank came under EU sanctions after the start of a special operation in Ukraine. As a result, almost half of the gold and foreign exchange reserves of the Bank of Russia were frozen – $300 billion out of $640 billion.
