Russia’s consolidated budget became surplus after 10 months

The consolidated budget of Russia (the federal budget and the consolidated budget of all constituent entities of the Russian Federation) in January–October 2023 was executed with a surplus of 212.8 billion rubles, follows from data from the Federal Treasury (.xls).
Based on the results of the first ten months of 2023, the revenues of the consolidated budget of Russia amounted to 47.25 trillion rubles, expenses – 47.04 trillion rubles. According to the Federal Treasury, the federal budget deficit of the Russian Federation in January-October amounted to 1.49 trillion rubles, federal budget revenues for the reporting period are estimated at 23.10 trillion rubles, expenses – at 24.15 trillion rubles.
For January–October of the current year, the consolidated budgets of the constituent entities of Russia were executed with a surplus of 1.61 trillion rubles. Regional budget revenues amounted to 17.64 trillion rubles, expenses – 16.32 trillion rubles.
At the end of October, the federal budget closed with a surplus for the third month in a row. The accumulated deficit over the ten months fell to 0.7% of GDP, or 1.235 trillion rubles. The improvement in the balance was largely due to the October growth in oil and gas revenues.
