Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the country’s citizens expect effective and offensive actions from the FSB and other intelligence services against the backdrop of the challenges facing the country. The president called the special operation in Ukraine the most important and most intense such challenge. At a meeting of the FSB board, the head of state called for strengthening special service units in new regions: in the LPR, DPR, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

“I will note your actions to neutralize agents, terrorist and sabotage groups of the enemy, as well as successful operations in the front line and enemy rear, counterintelligence support for military units and formations,” the president said (quoted from website Kremlin).

At the board meeting, Vladimir Putin also instructed special services to find and “punish without statute of limitations” saboteurs attacking the borders of the Russian Federation, and accused Ukraine of using terrorist methods

Ukrainian saboteurs tried several times to invade Russian territory through the Belgorod and Kursk regions from March 12 to 16. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, all attacks were repulsed. Responsibility for them was taken by the “Russian Volunteer Corps” and the “Legion “Freedom of Russia”” (recognized as terrorist and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation), consisting of Russians fighting on the side of Ukraine.
