The press service of the Eastern Military District for the Pacific Fleet reported that in the Sea of Japan, the crew of the large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Panteleev” discovered and attacked a mock enemy submarine.
“The ship “Admiral Panteleev” conducted an anti-submarine exercise in the Sea of Japan, during which an “enemy submarine” was discovered. The imaginary enemy tried to escape, then the crew of the Russian ship used reactive depth charges and “fired a simulated salvo of torpedoes,” the agency added.
It is specified that the diesel-electric submarine of the Pacific Fleet played the role of the “enemy” submarine.
