Russian Railways has adjusted the program for the modernization of the Eastern test site (BAM and Trans-Siberian), Andrey Makarov, deputy general director of the state-owned company, said at a briefing. The total cost of the second stage of the program will reach approximately 1.1 trillion rubles. with a completion date of 2025. The third stage involves the division into three sub-stages. The implementation of the first of them will require more than 460 billion rubles. But money from the budget and the National Welfare Fund has not yet been allocated for these works.
According to Makarov, investments of 1.1 trillion rubles. calculated until the end of 2025 for the construction of 280 facilities. The second stage is designed until 2024, but after the completion of the main work, part of the funds will go to the final ones – for example, the construction of cuts, slopes, ditches, the top manager added. He recalled that the carrying capacity of the Eastern test site after the completion of the second stage of modernization will amount to 180 million tons per year.
