Russian Permanent Representative in Vienna Ulyanov announced the visit of the head of the IAEA Grossi to Moscow

The head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, may visit Moscow in the near future. This was stated by Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, on the air of the Russia-24 TV channel.
“Grossi’s visit to Moscow is planned,” the permanent representative said. Regarding the time of the visit, Ulyanov noted that it could be “either next week or after the Christmas holidays.”
He also said that the conversation with Grossi “will be continued by the Russian side in an interdepartmental format, because the issue concerns the National Guard, the Ministry of Defense, Rosatom and the Foreign Ministry.”
Earlier, the Head of the International Atomic Energy Organization had already visited Moscow. Grossi visited Russia in mid-October and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On Wednesday, the adviser to the general director of Rosenergoatom, Renat Karchaa, called calls to withdraw the National Guard from ZNPP “idiocy”.
The fact that the IAEA has achieved the withdrawal of heavy and light weapons from the ZNPP was announced earlier by French President Emmanuel Macron. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said there were no Russian heavy weapons at the ZNPP. Volodymyr Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, explained that the withdrawal of light weapons would mean the removal from the station of the guard, which is being handled by the National Guard.
Karchaa called even the very raising of the question of the withdrawal of the Russian Guard from the territory of the station “a well-thought-out provocation.” If the National Guard leaves from there, saboteurs may try to arrange provocations that threaten nuclear security.
