Russian oilmen faced problems in the transportation of raw materials

The largest Russian oil companies have encountered problems when transporting oil products by rail in an easterly direction. Shipments are regularly and unpredictably delayed at departure, according to “businessman“.
According to the interlocutors of the publication, this issue was repeatedly raised during meetings of the headquarters of the Ministry of Energy and in the exchange committee of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS), but the problem could not be solved.
Railway workers point to the high congestion of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian Railways as a reason.
Difficulties with oil transportation eastward began in the second half of last year, and the problem is only getting worse over time.
The situation is expected to aggravate even more after the EU embargo on imports of Russian oil products comes into force on February 5, as Russian producers will therefore try to redirect even more cargo to the east.
