Russian military took part in a counter-terrorism training in Myanmar

In Myanmar, a command and staff training on countering terrorism was held with members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and “SMOA Plus” dialogue partners. It was attended by a group of officers of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Eastern Military District and the Pacific Fleet.

Representatives from Brunei, Vietnam, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and the Philippines took part in the training. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation notes that the training has become a prologue to the anti-terrorist exercise, which will be held in Primorye in September.
