Russian MiG-31 escorted a Norwegian aircraft over the Barents Sea

The Russian MiG-31 VKS fighter escorted the R-3C Orion aircraft of the Norwegian Air Force approaching the border over the Barents Sea, transmits press service of the Ministry of Defense in the Telegram channel.
“As a result of the professional actions of the fighter crew, tracking and control over the maneuvers of a foreign warship was ensured. After the foreign military aircraft turned away from the state border of the Russian Federation, the Russian fighter safely returned to the home airfield,” the report says.
The Ministry of Defense noted that no violation of the country’s border was allowed, and the flight of the Russian fighter was carried out in strict accordance with international rules.
On August 15, the defense department reported that a British RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft violated the Russian air border near Cape Svyatoy Nos, which is located on the eastern coast of the Kola Peninsula. Then, in order to stop the violation of the state border, the MiG-31 fighter was raised from the air defense forces on duty.
