The business activity index (PMI) of the manufacturing industries in Russia rose to 52.7 points in August from 52.1 points in July. About it says in an analysis by S&P Global.
In July, the PMI hit a nine-month low of 52.1. The August figure shows the fastest rate of growth since May.
As noted in the release of the agency, the volume of production continues to grow, and the number of new orders has grown significantly in the last three months. Export orders rose to the highest level since March.
“Meanwhile, selling prices rose the fastest in 16 months. Finally, business confidence deteriorated to a six-month low due to the potential impact of a weak currency.
A PMI index above 50 points indicates an increase in economic activity. An index below 50 points indicates a decline.
