The Russian language textbook for general education schools in Lithuania was withdrawn from circulation. The official reason for this decision of the country’s authorities is the alleged glorification of Russia in a textbook, as stated by the Minister of Education, Science and Sports of Lithuania Jurgita Shyugzhdinene.

According to the minister, henceforth publishers will check that such situations do not happen again. An order was sent to all schools in the country to prohibit the use of this textbook.

Interestingly, the minister did not name specific examples of the glorification of Russia in the textbook. But she noted that there were many such places in the book, so it had to be removed.
