Russia demands to lift the blockade of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and stop bullying people in it. The corresponding statement was made on Thursday, August 17, by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Foreign Ministry pointed to the Kiev regime’s continued abuse of its people and called on “all people of good will and those who are convinced of the need to defend people’s right to freedom of religion, to prevent a blatant act of violence against the monks and believers of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.”

On August 15, the Kiev police launched an assault on three buildings of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, where the monks of the UOC are located. This was preceded by a court decision to evict the monks from the territory of the reserve.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar said that the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra will be used for the “spiritual rehabilitation” of Ukrainian army fighters. According to her, laurels will be launched on the territory a program with “spiritual practices” for fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
