The Russian Embassy is inclined to consider the US sanctions against six representatives of Russian justice as interference in Russia’s internal affairs. This is done with the sole purpose of obstructing Russian justice. This was announced by the press secretary of the diplomatic mission Igor Girenko.
Earlier, official Washington announced the imposition of sanctions against six Russian citizens from the justice system. All of them, as reported, are related to the case of positional politician Vladimir Kara-Murza (an individual acting as a foreign agent). Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Oleg Sviridenko, judge of the Khamovniki District Court Diana Mishchenko, judge of the Basmanny Court of Moscow Elena Lenskaya and others fell under the restriction. The US accuses them of violating human rights.
In turn, Igor Girenko drew attention to the fact that Vladimir Kara-Murza himself is suspected of serious crimes. He is accused of high treason and spreading false information about the Russian army.
“Instead of brandishing the sanctions cudgel, it would be time for the US authorities to get in touch with reality and pay attention to the deplorable situation in the field of human rights and freedoms at home,” the Russian diplomat stressed.
