In its latest commentary, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Washington reported on the use of tactics by US intelligence agencies to recruit Russian diplomats. According to the embassy, they use mobile phones and provocations to force Russian diplomats to change their principles and act against Russia’s interests.
The diplomatic mission stated that such actions cause rejection and do not make it possible to effectively fulfill diplomatic duties. They stressed that there are no traitors among Russian diplomats, and they strictly follow American laws, protecting Russia’s national interests.
The embassy also expressed dissatisfaction with journalists who, in their opinion, are engaged in political agitation and the fulfillment of political orders instead of their professional activities. They called on journalists to give up their engagement and take a master class from Seymour Hersh, a well-known American journalist.
Earlier in May, Russia’s ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, said the CIA’s attempts to recruit Russians through the posting of propaganda videos were a provocation and part of a hybrid war against Russia.
