Russian Armed Forces destroyed more than 70 foreign mercenaries in Ukraine

The Russian armed forces, as a result of a strike with precision-guided weapons at the temporary deployment point of the “foreign legion” in the DPR and the Kharkiv region, destroyed more than 70 foreign mercenaries fighting on the side of Ukraine. Over 100 of them were injured, said Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry.

“As a result of strikes with high-precision weapons of the Russian Aerospace Forces at the points of temporary deployment of units of the “foreign legion” in the areas of the settlement. More than 70 foreign mercenaries were killed in Markovo, Kramatorsk, DPR, and Novoosinovo, Kharkiv region,” he said at a daily briefing.

Konashenkov added that in the Kupyansk direction, two armored vehicles and three terrorist defense vehicles were hit by artillery strikes, and up to 30 Ukrainian militants were destroyed. Also, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed more than 40 Ukrainian soldiers in the Krasno-Limansky direction, more than 40 in the South-Donetsk direction and up to 70 in the Donetsk direction.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia.
