Russian Armed Forces destroyed more than 180 military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the DPR and Zaporozhye

As a result of Russian artillery attacks on Ukrainian positions near Vladimirovka, Prechistovka, Novoukrainka of the Donetsk People’s Republic, as well as the village of Chervonoe, Zaporozhye region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost more than 180 people and five tanks, informed Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov.

Over the past day, Russian forces have also carried out strikes in the Krasnolimansk and Donetsk directions, as a result of which the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to over 150 and 100 military personnel, respectively. In addition, five sabotage and reconnaissance groups of Ukraine were identified and destroyed in the areas of several settlements of the DPR.

In the Yuzhnodonets direction, the Ukrainian side made unsuccessful attempts to counterattack the positions of Russian troops near the village of Dorozhnyanka, but were thrown back to their original positions.

The defense department also said that Russian pilots shot down MiG-29 and Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, and Russian artillerymen, as part of a counter-battery fight, destroyed Ukrainian 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers, an Uragan multiple launch rocket system and a D-20 howitzer .

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
