Russian air defense shot down a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone in the Belgorod region

The Russian air defense system stopped an attempt by a Ukrainian drone to attack the territory of the Belgorod region. The head of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, spoke about this on Tuesday, October 17.
As the politician wrote in his Telegram channel, the incident occurred in the Belgorod region with an aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicle.
Operational services are clarifying information about the consequences on the ground. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage.
Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu emphasized that Russian air defense systems are rightfully considered the best in the worldbecause they are distinguished by efficiency, reliability and ease of operation.
The air defense system continues to protect Russian territory from attempted Ukrainian attacks. On October 17, the Ministry of Defense said that it successfully destroyed two MiG-29 fighters and one Su-25 attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, as well as intercepted two HIMARS MLRS shells.
